The 15 minute DRS
Iain Whyte
Abstract
Fortis Clearing Asia Pacific, as a financial services provider has some fairly strict regulations requiring Business Continuity. FCAP is extremely reliant on IT infrastructure for its business and daily operations. Marrying these two and solving the problem in a reliable and elegant way has been a long process over many years.
The final result is a Disaster Recovery system that can be brought up single handedly in about 15 minutes.
A technical overview of this solution is presented, with discussions of how to get there, and some of the dead ends explored.
Topics include - Storage Area Networks, Virtualisation, Data replication, Bridged networks, Tender processes, management buy-in and expectations management.
