Abstract

As system administrators mature in their knowledge and responsibilities, they begin to rely on use of a number of "soft skills" to help them in their jobs. These skills include: project management, vendor relationship management, people management, time management, risk management, written and oral communication, and financial management.

This tutorial provides an overview of these many diverse areas, to assist system administrators in becoming more proactive in their duties and to provide tools which assist them to communicate more effectively with their managers, users and other important constituents and users of their services.

Who should attend?
