Big Lies in System Administration: Truths That Aren't
Lee Damon
Abstract
A discussion, and in many cases a denunciation, of some closely held meta-beliefs in System Administration. This talk makes the argument that just because we are told something by our mentors, or just because it is funny, or just because we're a bunch of burned out cynics doesn't mean it is true. We will examine some of the oldest dogma we have, in the process some truths will be revealed while others are reviled.
