Abstract
Why re-invent the wheel when you don't need to? What you will get from this tutorial is the knowledge needed to create a single image which will work on all your hardware, laptop or desktop. You will get the tools to deploy this image however ou want; Remote Installation Services (RIS) or DVD, it's the same image. You will also get all the information you need to customize the default install of Windows XP, to add extra features and make it conform to your SOE, all without touching the machine while it's installing. Why spend more than a few minutes re-installing a computer when you don't have to?
