SAGE-AU counts the cost of tech expertise
Australia’s peak technology experts group SAGE-AU has launched a nine-week salary survey of its members, Australia's system administrators, the IT gurus who keep computers and networks running.
SAGE-AU (System Administrators Guild of Australia) is conducting the System Administrators Salary Survey from today, Monday, June 7, to Friday, August 6. This year, for the first time, SAGE-AU has opened up the survey for non-member contribution.
SAGE-AU president Donna Ashelford said the survey was part of the organisation’s ongoing efforts to gain recognition and advancement for system administrators.Survey results will be tabulated, analysed and presented in PDF format on the SAGE-AU website. Initially, the results will be available only to SAGE-AU members and those non-members who participated in the survey. After a year, the PDF will become free to all.
In order to correctly identify salary trends, SAGE-AU intends to run this survey on a regular basis; this follows on from a survey conducted through 2008.
Until August 6, the survey can be found at http://www.sage-au.org.au/salarysurvey.
